The traditional organisations hierarchical triangle see’s the Ceo/Board being the Top dog and the workers at the lowest end. Every body works for the next line of management, lower end staff-for the Supervisor/Teamleader, they work or the Manager- Manager works for the GM/Head ect.

Turn the triangle upside down, not only do you change the who’s who in the zoo – but you change the fundamental  core and culture of an organisation. Scary but obvious, if the most important person in an organisation is the customer, then it only makes sense that hierarchal triangle should be upside down, making the most important employee in the organisation-The lower end staff that touch the customer every day. In my world management works for the staff.

Let me break it down:-The role and responsibility of every line manager up to Ceo level is to empower, develop and support your reportees’ , building a team of individuals that are confident and that can deliver at exceptional levels-Decision maker’s that are lateral thinker’s, out of the box thinker’s that play with in the paradigms of the organisational guidelines.

A tall order!

But one that can be achieved when you shift the minds of the management team– why the management team- the fish rots from the head (literally). It takes exceptionally high levels of emotional intelligence and hard work to pull this off- but the rewards are priceless

Business and management have changed over time, Organisations now realise that the lower end employees that touch the customer are the most important resources. The upside down triangle is the tool to drive this culture.

For purposes of clarity – I’ll display using a medium sized organisation...............
